This
harpist
has completed a Masters in Harp performance at the Royal
Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she has already
gained a BA(Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma in Performance.
Through her years at the R.S.A.M.D she has studied solo,
chamber and orchestral repertoire under her tutor Karen
Vaughan (co-principal of the LSO). She has played with all
the RSAMD’s orchestras throughout the six years, four
years as principal harp, including tours around Britain
and the RSNO Scottish Proms. She has been involved in
master classes with distinguished harpists such as
Kathleen Bride, Frances Kelly and Natalia Sheymeyeva.
During the
Scottish Opera Apprenticeship Scheme in January 2006 she
played second harp in the orchestral pit, in the off stage
band and also in a trio on stage in costume for Massenet’s
‘Cendrillon’. In February 2007 she auditioned within the
RSAMD and was given the opportunity to play Debussy’s harp
concerto ‘Danse Sacree et Danse Profane’ with the Royal
Scottish National Orchestra in June 2007. |

Her chamber music performances include a
trio recital in St.Andrew’s University, 2006. She has also
been involved with 'Side-by Side Concerts' with the
Hebrides Ensemble in Berio's Folk Songs and various new
compositions.
She has played with orchestras in and around Glasgow,
Stirling and Cumbria, performing in many different venues
including the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Edinburgh
Festival theatre and Glasgow Theatre Royal.
Since 1999 She has been playing regularly at weddings
and functions in various locations in and around Cumbria
and Scotland, including Lancaster's Ashton Memorial which
hosted a Cancer Care Charity Evening in the Presence of
Sophie, Countess of Wessex. She plays two different
harps the Clasach harp, which is more portable, and the
larger Concert Harp. Her music covers many different
styles, from well-known classical, traditional, and
contemporary pieces. |
