Clare
began learning the piano and violin aged seven, taking
up the concert harp a few years later. After studying
with the Royal Northern College of Music principal harp
tutor she continued her harp studies at Aberystwyth
University. Returning to her native Cumbria, she
performed with various orchestras and as part of a flute
and harp duo as well as teaching at various schools.
Over this time Clare moved to specialising on the Celtic
Harp and now plays a Bohemian Troubadour Harp which is
an approx 3 ft high replica of a 17th century instrument
known for its full sweet tone. Over the last 15
years
Clare has been a regular at many of the leading hotels
in the Lake District and the
Northwest. She has entertained at a wide range of events
from weddings to corporate dinners, small family parties
to Medieval evenings. Clare
plays a wide variety of music from classical to pop,
folk to medieval, jazz to Jewish, even playing Disney
favourites at a wedding.
The
harp is the perfect musical accompaniment for weddings,
Romantic and intimate, it can give that extra sparkle to
your special day.
