Marnie
is a harpist, singer, and composer, who lives in
Edinburgh, Scotland, where she recently completed a
masters in music at The University of Edinburgh.
Formerly, she was residing in Los Angeles, CA, working
as a professional musician and studying film scoring.
Marnie has been playing for special events and concerts
venues since the age of fifteen, when she first started
playing publicly in her hometown of Boise, Idaho. Her
list of clients includes the Royal Scottish Academy,
University of Edinburgh, Santa Monica Orchestra, City of
Beverly Hills, Alan Stevens recording studio, City of
Laguna, Children's Hospital of San Diego, and several
celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey and Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger. She played for every variety of
engagement, from wedding ceremonies, corporate events,
birthday parties, to holiday functions.
Marnie specializes in singing
while accompanying herself on the harp, and has
performed her original and traditional arrangements on
stages throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
She has also arranged a wide range of material for this
type of performance, including pop, classical, jazz,
folk, and original compositions. She also completed two
CDs that feature her talents as a
singer/songwriter/harpist.

Her debut
recording is entitled Sunday Skies, and is a folk-oriented
collection of original and traditional songs. Her more
recent CD, Lost Angles, is a collaborative effort called
Transit with Scottish electronica and film-composer,
Francis Walker.
Marnie plays a
full-sized orchestral pedal harp - a beautiful Lyon and
Healy gold style 11. She also plays the clarsach, and an
electric folk-harp harp built by the French manufacturer,
Camac. |
