ELLEN
is a
Kent based harpist, who
graduated from University College
London with a first class honours degree in Classics
before pursuing a
Masters in Music Performance at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She now enjoys a varied career
combining solo, ensemble and orchestral work. As a
soloist Ellen regularly gives recitals and recently
made an appearance with the Clemens non Papa Consort
performing Handel’s harp concerto.
Since 2003 she has been regularly
engaged as a solo artiste by Cunard to play aboard
their famous ocean liners
Queen Elizabeth 2 and
Queen Mary 2. Having also studied as a singer,
Ellen’s recital programmes and
ensemble projects often combine voice and harp; particular
highlights include a performance of Britten’s
Ceremony of Carols at Westminster Cathedral
and a recital
with tenor Jake White of Michael
Berkeley's song cycle
Wessex Graves.
She has also performed in some of Britain's
top concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall
at the
Last Night of the Proms.
Ellen plays for numerous private
functions in prestigious venues around Kent, London
and all around the country
and has extensive experience providing suitable
music of all styles for any event. Her repertoire
encompasses classical, light, jazz standards, film
soundtracks, musicals and popular songs.

Weddings.
A wedding day is a very special romantic day; it
requires special music, thoughtfully chosen and
expertly played. Enhance your wedding day with the
perfect romantic instrument for this occasion, the
harp. Ellen has extensive experience as a wedding
harpist.
Ceremony. Having specially chosen music
performed live can make an enormous difference to a
wedding ceremony, be it a civil or church marriage, as
it adds a personal touch. Ellen usually plays for a
short period before the ceremony whilst guests are
being seated, then for the Arrival of the Bride, the
signing of the Register and the final procession of
the Bridal party and guests.
Drinks Reception. Romantic harp music at the
drinks reception can create a welcoming atmosphere for
arriving guests but also provides a focal point for
guests whilst your presence is required elsewhere by
photographers.
Wedding Breakfast. The harp, as well as being
the most romantic and beautiful instrument, has a very
intimate sound yet can also be heard over a party of
one hundred guests. A mixture of musical styles played
in the background can add a very special touch to the
wedding breakfast.
