Maria-Christina
studied a music technology programme
which included: jazz harmony, basic electric guitar, basic
drums, ear training, rhythmic ear training and jazz
arrangement. She also began the harp which she studied
professionally and finished her studies at the "Athenaeum"
conservatory and gained her harp diploma with excellence.
She was then offered an entrance scholarship for the
postgraduate diploma in harp performance at the Royal
Academy of Music (RAM) and gained her LRAM diploma with
distinction. Her main harp tutor was the highly respected
harpist, Skaila Kanga but, she also had other teachers for
different types of harp music. Charlotte Seale for
teaching and technique, Thelma Owens for orchestral
studies, Helen Tunstall for contemporary music and Park
Stickney for jazz harp.

Maria-Christina has attended several harp master classes
in Athens, London, Paris and Geneva with professors
Isabelle Moretti, Isabelle Perrin, Emmanuel Ceysson and
Ivan Ion Roncea. Simultaneously with studying, she has
been working as a private music teacher and a harpist in
orchestras, hotels and special events.
She has played in many orchestras such as the "National
Orchestra of Greece", "Youth Symphony Orchestra of
Athens"( A.S.O.N), "Symphony Orchestra of Crete", "Feminarte"(chamber
music orchestra), "Orchestra of Athens municipality",
"Trinity Orchestra of London" and also cooperated with the
chamber music quartet of the National Orchestra of Athens. |
