Jade's Testimonials From Previous Clients
|
To whom it may concern: I have
known Jade – formerly as her classical harp teacher at Goldsmiths’ College,
London University for approximately ten years. She has always had an
individual and unique artistic voice and has always been searching and
striving for originality in what she does. Over the years, this has
encompassed a variety of seemingly extra musical influences, and
inspirations for her writing which have well and truly broken out of the
mould. Now with the technology to begin to match her creative aspirations,
Jade has been able to extend this exploration of music and sound further,
still using the harp, but as none of us will have heard it before. Jade
really pushes the boundaries of timbre and texture which have to reshape our
awareness of what is possible on a harp. At times, sounding like a very
complex electric guitar – or several sequenced or superimposed such
instruments, this music is clearly enjoyed by the kind of young audiences
who hitherto would have thought of the harp as something that only their
grannies might enjoy. This is the harp at its most hip sounding and as such
it does well to break beyond the instrument’s usual audience, introducing it
to a whole new cultural audience. This can only be good news for the
instrument. Jade has rethought what is possible and approached it from a
completely fresh stance. Please do contact me if you have any further
queries, Yours faithfully, Danielle Perrett MMus BA hons LRAM ARCM ILTM Assistant examiner, Trinity College, London |
