The harp is perfect
for any event. Quite apart from the magnificent sound it
is a visually stunning instrument and adds elegance to any
occasion. Janet works closely with her clients to find a
programme that suits. For weddings she is happy to play
any special request. Janet prides herself in having a
wide and varied repertoire from Elgar to Elvis, Handel to
Harry Potter.
Janet is also a harp
therapist for people/animals and is half of a guitar and
harp duo, a project incorporating modern acoustic guitar
with rock/folk and flamenco elements.
Janet comes from a
musical family. She started learning piano with her
mother, concert pianist Nesta Rhys Jones from a very young
age. Inspired at just four years old by a performance from
world renowned harpist Marisa Robles at the Albert Hall
she began playing the harp at the age of ten. She went on
to study with Susan Drake, recognized as one of Europe’s
finest harpists and a pupil of Robles’ herself.
After playing in
various orchestras, Janet began her professional career at
the age of 17, her first wedding performance taking place
at Woburn Abbey.
In recent years she has branched out into many different
projects such as harp therapy and collaborations with
rock/pop musicians, creating new and exciting fusions of
the traditional and modern. |
