Ruth studied
at the Royal College of Music with Marisa Robles. Since
then she has worked regularly with the Royal Philharmonic,
London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, London Symphony and BBC
Symphony Orchestras, along with the English Chamber
Orchestra London Mozart Players. Regional Orchestra work
has included the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra,
Bournemouth Sinfonietta, Ulster Orchestra, BBC National
Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera and Birmingham
Royal Ballet.
Ruth’s busy schedule has featured recitals all over the UK
and abroad, notably concerts at the Purcell Room and
Wigmore Hall as well as a concerto at the Queen Elizabeth
Hall in London. She has also played concertos with the
English Chamber Orchestra and the Bournemouth Sinfonietta.
Performances for television have seen her appear for BBC 1
and BBC 2 and also on BBC Radio 3. She has played as
soloist for Her Majesty the Queen, The Queen Mother,
Prince Phillip and the Duchess of Gloucester.
Teaching is also part of Ruth’s life and her past
experience has seen her at St Paul’s School for girls and
Christ’s Hospital School, Horsham as well as giving
private coaching. She currently teaches Wells Cathedral
School and Millfield School.
On a lighter note, Ruth was the first harpist to hold a
residency playing at Harrods in London and has travelled
around the world playing for British Airways promotions. |
