Siona studied both Harp
and Voice at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama
where she was awarded a distinction in her Masters degree.
She then went on to study at the Royal College of Music,
London gaining a postgraduate diploma in Vocal
Performance.
Siona is a
very experienced musician who has played the harp for
church and civil wedding ceremonies, private functions,
and corporate events since 1996. Siona is also an
established soprano soloist both on the concert platform
and stage, and she is very happy to combine her talents
for your event if so wished. Siona has performed
extensively to a wide variety of audiences throughout the
UK and abroad in such prestigious venues as the Ritz Hotel
in London and St Martin's in the field, and many of
Europe's finest cathedrals.
Siona
interprets a wide range of styles on the harp from the
baroque period to the present day and is always happy to
discuss the choice of music with her clients. She usually
performs a combination of light classical pieces,
traditional Welsh, Irish |
|
and Scottish melody
arrangements and more contemporary items including tunes
from the musicals and film music. A programme can be
tailor made to her clients’ taste and requirements.
A typical wedding package
might include setting the scene with for half an hour as
guests arrive, playing for the entrance of the bride, the
signing of the register, perhaps a vocal interlude,
playing for the exit of the wedding couple and guests from
the ceremony room and then continuing to play throughout
the drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
