This harpist studied Harp (concert/ triple & Celtic
harp) at the Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama. Currently, the only harp
therapist in Wales (Leading Harp Therapy in the UK), after gaining a place on
the ‘International Harp Therapy Program’, USA. (British women of the year
foundation award 2003).Training with some of the worlds most outstanding
students, she has received major UK awards for her work with the UK & US Armed
Forces, Cancer & Leukaemia, Terminally ill, Special needs, Multicultural arts,
Mental health and Plan International.
She was awarded the
2009-‘Special Recognition award’ (European Woman in Innovation), 2009 Women of
the Year, Appointed Dame G.C. St.Cecilia. (Knightly Order of St Cecilia),
2008-‘Special Recognition award’ (British Female in Innovation), 2007-Woman in
Innovation Award (Welsh Women of the Year), 2006 International Harp Therapy
Conference PDG –Humanitarian Award. In 2005 & 2002 she was one of the ‘Women of
the year’(British) for Music, winner of the Triple Harp competition in the Cerdd
Dant Eisteddfod in Meirionydd 2002 and awarded ‘Champion for the Disabled’ for
her work with Disabilities, special needs and Harp Therapy (Post, Observer and
Gazette Newspapers). In 2001, she was awarded ‘The Bridgend college Theatre,
Media and Music Awards’.
Playing at prestigious
functions throughout the world and performing on both British, American & Sky
Television and International & British Radio.
She enjoys playing for more
personal events such as weddings, funerals, dinners, launch parties, Military
tours and events, official openings, champagne receptions, red carpet arrivals,
award ceremonies, sporting events, Charity Balls and holistic retreats. Some of
which have included The Royal Family, Heads of State, MPs, MEP’s, Welsh
Assembly, World Congress, European Summit & Parliament, International Designers,
International Sports Professionals, Paranormal, UK & US Armed Forces &
International Stars from TV, Film & Stage.
On a personal level, the
highlight of her career was to be part of the Official opening of the only
children’s hospice in Wales ‘Ty Hafan’. The first harpist ever to perform at the
African Commission, Africa House, African Embassy, London.
To represent the UK in ‘The
World Harp Orchestra’ and as an International Soloist performing in the US,
along side top International harp soloists from around the world for the
United Nations World food program.
