A
proficient and experienced working harpist, She grew up
in Harrogate taking up the harp at age 8. Taught by her
Great Aunt Dorothy Gilbertson for many years, She started
playing for Weddings and Functions in 1995 before choosing
to study a BA (Hons) Languages and Linguistics and York
University from 1997-2000. Throughout these formative
years She had extensive orchestral experience and passed
Grade 8 ABRSM in 1996.
Developing an interest in the therapeutic applications of
the harp, She studied part-time with World Class harpist
Christina Tourin from 2001-2006 on the International Harp
Therapy Program. Now a Certified Therapeutic Harp
Practitioner She has taken the harp into many progressive
contexts including nursing homes, hospitals and yoga
classes and has developed particular expertise in
accompanying mothers through labour and birth with harp
therapy.
She's expressive playing shows a genuine affinity for the
harp, which she hopes to pass on to her growing number of
pupils.
Currently available for Weddings, Corporate and other
events in the North of England, She is happy to
accommodate your individual tastes and requirements, and
offers a free consultation prior to the event. |
