She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of
Music & Drama with a BA (Scottish Music) Honours in
July 2003 having studied clarsach, singing and
composition. She is now a full time freelance
musician.
She’s performances include playing at the
weddings of Madonna
& Guy Ritchie, and
Travis guitarist Andy
Dunlop to Jo Monaghan. She regularly plays
for leading Parliamentary figures and has played for
the Princess Royal,
the Duke of York
and Prince Edward on separate occasions.
Other celebrities include:
Donald Trump, Gywneth
Paltrow, Sting, Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney,
Trudie Styler, Dame Maggie Smith, Rupert Everett and
Fran Healy.
She was an ambassador for Visit Scotland
promoting their 'Romantic Scotland' campaign.
During her
career, Scottish harpist SC05 has won many awards and accolades, most notably
the Danny Kyle award at the world famous Celtic Connections Festival and in the
same year was a finalist in the BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the
Year.
In
2004 she was asked to compose a one hour piece for the New Voices series at
Celtic Connections festival. Her composition – entitled Silver Lining –
performed by Karine Polwart, James Mackintosh, Kevin Henderson, James Ross and
Christine Hanson.
She has extensive
experience performing at weddings
in Scotland, adding a
special atmosphere of romance to your day through her beautiful harp playing and
singing. She will customise your special day with music of your choice or
alternatively can suggest some favourites from her extensive repertoire;
including traditional celtic, contemporary music, song and hymns.
