This harpist's family line descends
from the Stecklar family, Alsace. Anne-Marie Stecklar was a harpist of
considerable virtuosity in great demand in London and Paris during the early
nineteenth century. Harpist SE44 is now continuing the family tradition,
enhancing many events with beautiful harp music.
As a performer, she has worked with orchestras and opera companies including the
National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the RTE Concert Orchestra, playing
for events such as the Wexford Opera Festival and the last night of the RTE
proms. As a chamber musician she has played for various occasions such as family
weddings and celebrations, corporate events and a number of opening ceremonies
in the presence of many leading politicians and members of the Royal Family.
She has toured extensively both home and abroad with many leading conductors.
Harpist SE44 was trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Eira-Lynn
Jones and Frank Sternefeld, as well as undertaking master classes with Kathleen
Bride (Eastman School of Music, USA), Edward Wittsenberg (Hague Conservatoire,
The Netherlands), Sebastien Lipman (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Germany) and
the acclaimed soloist Marissa Robles.
As a musician, she believes in taking music to everyone, working with
educational workshops organised by the Halle Orchestra, as well as introducing
the harp to the Junior Strings Project in Manchester and working as Head of
Music for The Hawthorns School in Bletchingley, Surrey. |
